Source
An E. coli strain that carries a plasmid for the cloned luciferase gene from the North American firefly Photinus pyralis.
Storage Buffer
25mM Tris-acetate (pH 7.8 at 4°C), 1mM EDTA, 1mM DTT, 0.2M ammonium sulfate, 15% glycerol, 30% ethylene glycol.
Storage Conditions
Store at –70°C. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Unit Definition
The light unit value is the light output generated at room temperature over a 10-second period. QuantiLum® Recombinant Luciferase is diluted 106-fold in 1X Cell Culture Lysis Reagent (CCLR, Cat.# E1531) and 1mg/ml acetylated BSA. A quantity of 10μl of diluted luciferase is combined with 100μl of Luciferase Assay Reagent [prepared from Luciferase Assay Substrate and Luciferase Assay Buffer (supplied in Cat.# E1500)]. Light output is measured using a Turner Luminometer Model# TD-20e.
