Promega Spring Art Showcase Presents Shared Humanity

Madison, WI USA. (April 7, 2026)

The Promega Spring Art Showcase, Shared Humanity, reflects the universal values, emotions and experiences across the work of three distinct yet complementary artists. The exhibition examines identity, resilience and human connection across cultures, materials and personal experience.

Georgios Katsagelos presents Portraits of Women, a photographic series developed over more than three decades across four continents. His images portray women in workplaces, homes, public spaces and institutions, capturing the complexities of female presence in a male-dominated world. Despite differences in geography, social class and circumstance, the photographs reveal universal themes of motherhood, survival, self-perception, and dignity.

Michael Velliquette contributes intricately handcrafted paper sculptures that transform a humble, familiar material into immersive works of art. Drawing on universal symbols such as hands, stars, hearts and human profiles, his work reflects both shared human experience and the meditative act of making. For this exhibition, Velliquette also presents a series of powder-coated aluminum sculptures that translate his iconic motifs into reflective, three-dimensional forms that interact dynamically with light and space.

Chele Ramos brings an intimate and emotionally driven perspective through her portraiture. Her work focuses on human emotion and mental health awareness, encouraging meaningful conversations while offering hope. Working across a range of mediums, Ramos blends contemporary realism with expressionism, using bold color, texture and expressive gestures to convey inner experience and emotional depth.
